Inktober day 31

My first composite picture (taken from several photos). And it is obvious that I had started getting tired of drawing every day... I put less effort into it, it seems. Ah well.

Inktober day 30

My brother is visiting and we are doing stuff so I didn't have much time today. A knot will keep me covered. One day to go! Seems I'll make it to the finish line.

Inktober day 29

On request. This one was difficult. People making faces are hard. Look serious, guys! Resting bitch faces are great for drawing!

Inktober Day 27

The topic of my drawings is starting to become "I'm in your facebook drawing your profile pictures", just taking whatever inspires me. I have a request I have said I will draw but later (a drawing of the band KAOS!, I want to give them more attention and better materials), I have another request that haven't provided me with photos to draw from, and there are four days to go. Just four! I have almost made the entire month. This is nothing short of amazing.

Here's Syntharjävel. Facebook won't let him use that name anymore. Facebook is stupid. :(

Inktober day 25 - without ink

I know I wrote this post, but apparently I deleted it at some point instead of posting it. Oops.

Here goes:

This is my cousin and good friend Erik, who readers might recognize from my Texas adventures. He's a great drinking buddy, and travel companion, and overall swell guy, who happens to look good in uniform too. This is drawn from an official looking photo, and I got scared I'd ruin it if I tried to ink it so I decided to leave it in pencil. It was fun to draw but the uniform details was a pain in the butt :)

Perfect Autumn Day

Today was the perfect autumn day. Or as Daniel H put it - the last day of summer. We spent it moving his boat a short stretch to winter harbour (it gets to go on shoreleave tomorrow), and put the mast ashore and into storage, but those are the boring sounding details. The really nice part was nice company and the lovely weather and the pretty colours. So, pictures instead of words for this one. As usual, click on a photo for a slideshow style view where they are all the same size.

Inktober Day 23

This one was on request from an online acquaintance who is also doing inktober. This one is a day late, but I am backdating the blog post. I made a sketch in the morning, but then my day was filled with socialising and errands (well, in the other order), so I never found the time to ink it and did two today (on the 24th).

Inktober Day 22

Today I decided I wanted to draw Svanhild. We lived in the same dorm when we went to arts&crafts school thingum in in 99 and 00. She is way more talented than me and so very beautiful that I was scared about drawing her for so many reasons. But I enjoyed it very much! Though I don't think I did her justice.

Inktober day 20

Belinda. I don't think I nailed this, but I do think I got some of her. The photo is slightly tilted I think which doesn't help. Should probably get me a scanner. And a computer to use it with..

Inktober Day 17

A friend sent me a photo of her and her guy in bright sunlight with rather dramatic shade, and since I had such fun drawing concert images yesterday I decided to see what I could do with it.

A little rant: I want to go see Paradise Lost tomorrow. I want company because social anxiety. Some people want to but can't manage the logistics. Other people could manage the logistics but don't want to. Noone seems to have the winning combination!

Inktober Day 14

Third self-portrait. Definitely getting old. Though I also think I am getting better at it. I'll do maybe one more.

Inktober Day 13

After yesterday I asked on facebook if I should return to the safe boats I know how to draw or if I should continue doing self-portraits and see if I can nail one. People thought I should do self-portraits.

It's going to get old pretty quickly though.

For today, here is one. Would this be easier with a pencil? Yes.
To prove the fact I also drew it in pencil (to the right of this text).

But this is INKTOBER and so I shall continue with my ink.
Might not stick with the self-portraits however...

Original and my ink sketch.

Inktober Day 12

I am really happy with the ear, and the overall skull shape is good, the eyes are not good, I struggled with nose and mouth too. And I probably shouldn't have stopped looking at the photo halfway through, at that. However, the idea of this thing is to keep drawing, not be so critical to myself, post stuff even though they're not perfect, and hopefully be better next year.

Inktober Day 11

A few notes about this one.
1) Letting my nerd flag fly high.
2) Don't know if ANY of my readers will know the reference, but tell me if you do.
3) My ruler is awol, and I am too lazy to get another (ie a cat is lying on my legs and I don't want to disturb him - you can see him in the picture), so this is freehanded and eyeballed.
