I just started laughing half tentative half mad cackle when I had the thought:
It might just be worth it to knit a full Pi shawl to NOT have to purl back..

Twice as many stitches but NO PURLING. And, the next thought, calm and wondering - I wonder if this is why EZ perfected the circular shawl? She admitted freely her hate of purling.

Third thought: I wonder if I can steek a Pi and get two halfcircle shawls. One for me, one to gift.

Fourth thought: I am probably way overtired and need to go to bed...

Bad aftertaste

Antibiotic eye drops tastes really really bad.

And no, I do not drink them. Most people counter what I said above with "You're not supposed to drink them" - I am aware of this, and have successfully resisted the urge, believe it or not.

But the drops travel - I presume through my tear ducts down through my sinuses and winding up in my throat, where they leave a terrible taste on the back of my tongue. I have not yet found anything that successfully counters this. Suggestions are welcome (if they are reasonably achievable).

Maybe not allergy after all?

So, I think the problem with my eye might be an infection, because now the actual eye whites are red and there is pus. Yuck. Got a doctor's appt in the PM, hopefully they can Fix It. I was feeling more and more blind and handicapped and finally realised that of course, it is my good eye that is swelling shut, so if I wear my glasses so I can see on my left eye instead I'll be able to Do Things (and might feel more awake since I can see anything but blur).

Anyway, I am so focused on allergy and urticaria that it never did occur to me that it could be an infection. Now that I have realised that it is, I have already thrown out all makeup that was used on that eye this week, so I won't reinfect myself.

To be continued...

I am kinda attracted to this squishy plush fox. I have so far resisted to buy it. I'll stick it on my wish list since my bday is coming up.

Hand is there for sense of scale.

I have been mostly symptom free for years, eating my medicine daily. The last time I got my prescription fulfilled I got a "noname" brand. Shouldn't be a difference, I have no problem with that. Except that I have suddenly gotten symptoms (swollen rashes on my neck, swollen rashes and blisters on my eyelid from make-up, scalp and ears that feels as if it's got acidburn - from shampoo - itchy red swollen hands - because I touched them, the pressure triggered it. I tried to think what it could be. And realised that the change was the medicine. I had 11 pills left of the old, in my bag, so I switched to those - and the symptoms started fading. WHARGARBL! So I am going to switch back to cross check and if you don't hear from me ever again you will know I died from bad medicine and can sue the maker of my latest pills. Or then I am just going to call my doctor up and whimper at him to renew my prescription and click the ticky box that says they can't change my medicine to another brand.

To spoon or not to spoon

People that know me say I will eat guacamole with a spoon if given the chance. I'd like to point out that it hasn't yet happened quite that way. Though I have used other items to a spoon like effect...

New thingies

I got new glasses last week.

And today I finished my socks. I am so cool.

Trying to get back on track..

This is not an interesting blog post, but at least I am posting. Please nag me and kick my ass and comment and harass me about getting stuff written here - I should get the trip photos up if nothing else, but also pick up my self challenge. I don't feel particularly guilty about dropping out because it was a challenge to myself, but the point was that I need to write and improve my writing soooo. Yea. Should. So anyway, next up in the series of photos from the trip is the wedding day, which includes me driving an ATV and scaring Kate who is a control freak with a lead foot (ie, she drives really fast herself but screams like a banshee if anyone else does with her as a passenger).

However: I am getting shit done!
Today, so far: Two loads of laundry, emptied, stacked and ran the dishwasher, knit some on my socks, bought a birthday gift for an upcoming b-day, bought the second Xmas gift (at the moment I feel like I got that under control, in reality I will probably be flailing a week before Xmas trying to get the rest), and got a bread dough rising in the kitchen now.
Hoping to get done before the day is over: Finish my socks (F'yeah! Finally!), change the light bulb in the hallway, unclutter some so Mrs. Clean can do her job tuesday, finish the bread and make soup, and decide what my next project will be and either wind the yarn for it or start it (depending on the state of the yarn I want to use). ´

Knittingwise.. Man. So much going on. I should probably photoblog some about knitting, right?
Anyway, I bought more sock needles - I knit socks on two 24" (60cm) circulars, so I buy them in pairs. For some reason I always wind up buying 16" (40cm) instead. Or at least I have done that three times this year and once three years ago. It isn't amusing anymore. This time I got 4 pairs, so a lot of money too - Addi Lace - luckily I get to change them for the right length. AND I realised knitpro's karbonz is available in the shop so I ordered two pairs of those as well to test them. Only good thing I can say is that I have now managed a full week without buying yarn. Knitting really is a material hobby, innit?

My blogging is going so-so. I mostly dropped out of FB. I am hardly on IRC. I do still spend a whole lotta time on Ravelry though... if that amounts for anything. I need to get my shit together and get stuff done. But first I need to change the lightbulb in the hallway and finish these socks... brb..
