Sick Leave

This weekend my neck and back locked up and I had trouble moving. In fact I couldn't get out of bed without help. I was off work monday due to having worked saturday, and yesterday I felt stiff but not not as bad as I was - I could move and work normally. Unfortunately by the time I got to work today I had realised I was back to being as bad as before yesterday. So I left after just a few hours, and managed to get a doctor appointment. Result? Sickleave this and next week, and three different pills. If bonecracker dude ever starts answering his phone  again I am due a visit to him as well. If he don't I might well replace him in my life, probably with one of two bonecracker dudettes I have tracked down which work within reasonably distance both from work and home; ie somewhere along my commute.

For now? Handicapped. Can't turn my head, walk properly, use the left arm, tilt my head, and my head is also locked at an angle to my spine, which is very wearisome. Hopefully it will let go soon. For now.. I am mostly feeling sorry for myself for the extreme boredom which has already set in. My media computer which acts as movie-displaying-unit is broken, too. Some grub2 bug which doesn't want to be fixed and I don't want to do a complete reinstall as it'll wipe the drive off some data I'd rather not lose. BAH!

  1. The good thing about a sick leave is that you get plenty of time to read (and write). Hope you're up and running again soon. Best wishes >:)

    Cold As Heaven

  2. Oh yea, definitely. Started the third book already thursday afternoon, but yesterday the reading was interrupted by an NCIS marathon, catching up on the spring's eps. So at the moment: Reading Kim Stanley Robinson - The Years of Rice and Salt. Apart from "and if you want to know what happened there, read the next chapter" and similar endings to all the chapters it has been fairly good so far. But the chapter thing is driving me mildly insane.

  3. Uh, what a shame your neck caught that kind of condition. I'm just dreading of getting it as well, since the odds are really against me if I don't start doing suitable sports to maintain even some kind of functionality

Be nice!
